Unless frying chips, I usually prefer to eat potatoes not peeled, either boiled or wrapped in aluminium foil heated in the oven, with butter.

Now I have been told that eating spuds + skin is not recommended. But no sensible and reliable reason could be given.

Can anybody shed light on this matter, please?

Thank you.

I leave the skin on all veg. Roast potatoes with their skins on is divine. The only time I peel spuds is for mashing.....and i've started buying that now as life's just too short.
