Hi my ex of 7 years left me a month ago, he has broke up with me in the past. I feel this time he left me because he felt that he could not better himself with me in his life. It’s been a month (just over) and neither one of us has been in contact since. I am pretty sure he moved out of the city and wants nothing to do with me. He feels like the relationship was dragging on. I really miss him and would want to see him again. We had a nice clean break. Should I contact him? Should I hold out hope? Or just forget it, it’s been a long time and I doubt he even cares anymore. I just want advice thanks!

You're better off without him. Don't waste your time and emotions on this one. He's not worthy of you. There is someone out there for you and you will find happiness.
I wish you all the best.
Did he actually say that you're holding him back?

If a month has passed by and he's not been in contact it's extremely unlikely that he wants to reconcile. Also, it's quite likely there's someone else involved, for men seldom walk out of a "comfort zone" without something else to walk into. I know the pain you're feeling, having been there myself. It gets better and so too will your taste in men!

When I think about what I "lost" 6 years ago and what I have gained since.... I wouldn't want my old life or my grubby lying ex back for anything.
To all those who have said "dump him"....bit late and it is rather unhelpful as he has dumped HER.

Now, if he is the "go-ahead type" then he makes a good point ( behind every successful man there is a strong woman)and perhaps Linkedup is not that woman. There is no easy way to say to a woman "you are not the woman i wanted, you are the woman I've got" and it takes rather a special kind of man to face up to reality ( it takes women longer and more dramatic).

Contact him if you feel that would help, as it would do no harm but prepare yourself for the period of chest beating, crying, depression and worthlessness which everyone goes through in you circumstances. You could meet the love of your life, handsome, personable, understanding who would make you forget HIM......someone like me.....;-) but i doubt it.
Good luck.
Will you be able to trust him again?

Not talking about cheating. Just security in a relationship.
Draw a line move on...my heart was broken way back when and I never got over him...till....30 years letter a grovelling pleading letter arrived saying what a mistake he'd made and how unhappy his life had been without me etc etc... good I thought as I ripped it into wee bits and returned to him.... you will mend and look back with humour one day too...

Hi everyone thank you for your opinion. I never thought reaching out to strangers would help me through this. For all you lovely people that said I don’t need someone like that thank you :) I am also happy to hear most people don’t want their ex back after time. My update is no word from my ex, but I am dating someone else. So to the person who said they doubted I would find a handsome, sweet, caring guy he’s all those and more :) hopefully it works out! I am still young and looking great.. also to answer some questions based on the breakup he said there was no one else, but he said the line “I don’t see you in my future” so I guess it’s best to just move on and be happy.
It certainly is and I wish you well - have a happy life.x
