You have likely switched the source mode from what you are using(box or aerial) to a source that you have no signal for.
You should have a choice of say, HDMI, External, AV, or even component. Usually the top right button on most hand remote units.
You probably hit one of the mode buttons....try Input and then hit button that you're tv is connected too satellite/freeview/cable ( Scart, HDMI, AT etc )and see if it comes back.
As others have indicated, you've probably got the wrong source selected. (i.e. your TV is looking for a signal from a non-existent DVD player, set-top box or similar).

The 'Source' button on many remote controls is indicated by a rounded rectangle with an arrow pointing into it. If you've got such a button (or perhaps one labelled 'Src' or similar) press it. Then use the up/down buttons to select the 'normal TV' source. (It's commonly labelled 'DTV' but it might also be labelled 'TV', 'Aerial', 'Ae', 'Antenna', 'Ant', 'RF' or something else). Press the 'OK' button to accept that source.

Thank you all ,I've tried all of your suggestions but still "no signal".
What is your usual signal source? Sky box, Freeview,? Aerial?
Have a look on your roof to check that your aerial's still there.

Yes, I know that might sound facetious but, about a decade ago, I asked someone else on AB to check exactly that and he found that his aerial was lying in his garden!

Then check that your aerial is properly plugged into the back of your telly. If there's anything between the aerial itself and the TV set (such as a booster box) check the connections on that too. (If you've got a signal booster installed it might be that it's packed up. Try removing it and connecting the aerial without it. If you regain some channels you'll know that the booster is defective).

Also try unplugging the telly (NOT just turning it off), waiting a few minutes and then restoring the power to it.

In that case, unplug the TV from the socket and satellite/cable/freeview whatever you have...then plug them in again.... and reboot.....may put right what you pressed.

Hi BC I had done some of your suggested checks with no success,so I decided in the end to re-tune the tv ,I don't know why but it worked.I can't understand why pressing a wrong button on the remote should require a re-tune. But once again thanks for sticking with it.
I think you may have to access the "First Time Installation" in the automatic channel scan. You may have pressed a sequence of buttons on the remote that has done a factory reset.
Haha sorted.
