This has been known about for years. I remember certain brands being discontinued in Care homes because of it.
It's been reported a few times over the years, this report from 2015

presumably the old fella hadnt been exactly changing his clothing frquently....
Peter, the paraffin doesn't wash out at normal temperatures and the bandages, clothing and bedding needs to be boiled and that isn't guaranteed to remove the residue.
This residue can build up over weeks and months even with frequent washing. It will make fire retardant clothes, bedding and mattresses flammable.
