Looking for ideas from ye learned folk! We are a newly established small, village based local history group, who organise lectures on a monthly basis. We are in a position to get funding from a bigger heritage society in the region of £400, so we are looking for novel ideas for things we can purchase. We have a camera, video camera, and recorder, and we have the use of a computer, pointer etc for presentations. We have got a few portable, vinyl pop-up banners done on local history, and we have brought out a small local publication. Has anyone any ideas of things that are particularly useful to local history groups, or other ideas on how to spend it, as we don't want to refuse good money!

A laminator, so that notes on various subjects can be handed out and re-used, rather than re-printing.

Thank you for that, we would never have thought of that! Ideas that are being tossed around is a walking heritage tour in the area, but need a bigger budget for signage, information boards etc..... all ideas appreciated, thanks to everyone for suggestions.
A walking heritage tour is an excellent idea, but be aware that this might exclude people who are not very physically able. Here is where a (laminated) map with stopping points on one side and brief explanations of these points on the other would come in handy. The non-ambulant could then drive from point to point. Have fun. :)
