I am told that rather than using my iPhone Bluetooth App facility to play Spotify Premium tunes on my Bose Soundwave IV speaker, I can somehow " load" Spotify Premium directly onto the Bose. Any ideas what the process is please

Get the Bose Soundwave app from the Apple appstore. Once you've installed it on your iphone, you can use it to program the Bose to connect directly to Spotify and other streaming services via wifi.

Thanks TC. Having just bought the Bose, I have not yet investigated how to programme the Bose directly to Spotify or as you say to other streaming services. I have indeed downloaded the Bose app to enable me to set it up in the first place.
