Having a good clear out and some stuff is almost too good for charity shop.
I used to sell bits on eBay many moons ago but it now seems a lot of work for not a great reward.
Eg we have a four man tent that has only been used twice.
Don't know where to start to try and sell it.
All suggestions welcome please.

facebook local selling groups - no listing fees, no postage as people come to you to collect
and you ahve the cash in you hand when they take it away
I've sold a few bits on Shpock. The buyers are local and collect with cash, and it's free.
It depends how desperate you are for space. Selling on eBay (or similar sites) has the advantage of knowing that you'll probably get at least a few bids so, though you might not make much money, you'll definitely end up with less clutter in your house. Selling on, say, supermarket noticeboards can be a bit more hit and miss but you might get more money in the end that way. (For example, if you want the best price for that tent it might be best to wait until later in the year, when people are tempted to go camping, and then try to sell on local noticeboards).

While some stores seem to have done away with public noticeboards, and others aren't as widely used as they were in the past, some stores seem to have boards which are full of adverts, with lots of people stopping to read them. Wilkinson's is among the best.
We always do local marketplace groups on Facebook ( about 20+ for our area) first as it's free, no commission, and then ebay for the rest or if something has rarity and will fetch a much better price with a larger more targeted audience.
