Ok, so my husband and I are looking to go on a holiday of a lifetime this June; spending approx £2k each (this is a lot of money for us!). We looked at Costa Rica and found the most amazing holiday - 7 days travelling around, horseback riding, seeing monkeys, sloths, walking the treetop bridges etc, then 7 days in all inclusive hotel. Once I'd set my heart on it we remembered Zika virus.....we're trying for a baby so that put a stop to that. So.....my question is, does anyone have any recommendations of multi-centre holidays they've been on combining nature, sightseeing, animal spotting etc etc? Any ideas gratefully received!

South Africa - is that free of the virus?
Several itineraries can be found which include taking in Cape Town, Wine & Garden Route, Kruger Park. You can also get to see Victoria Falls in Zambia and Chobe in Botswana if your budget allows. Big plus is no 'jet lag.' Zika does not appear to be present in the country .
America - grand canyon, San Fran, Napa Valley, Death Valley - 2 grand each will get you 2-3 weeks!
May be worth dropping into Trailfinders if you have one locally, they're very good on making the most of your money.
I'm not sure you'd get a good trip to South Africa on 4K, I may be wrong.
Very different viewpoint but were it me I'd go for the Costa Rica deal you've seen and put off the baby trying until you get back. If you got pregnant between now and June you may not feel up to a big trip anyway, it's not uncommon to feel sick, spotty and very tired in the first trimester anyway. Just a thought.
My husband and I are still mulling over where to go on our honeymoon and we too were tempted by Costa Rica but now we're considering Sri Lanka and The Maldives which will give us the best of both worlds.

I'm now due to give birth any day so it won't be happening this year!

Thanks peeps for all those ideas - food for thought. Prudie - I see where you're coming from but they say you have to refrain from baby making for six months when you're back too. I don't have time to waste - 42 this year so time is precious!
Good luck with everything.
NHS advice is 8 weeks after but I understand your concerns.

Thanks Prudie I didn't realise that.....a real dilemma......
Here's a list of countries by category - I think it's level 1 and 2 countries where you need the precuation and the WHO and Centre for Disease Control both advise not getting pregnant for 6 months
