I have Webroot Secure Anywhere Endpoint Protection anti virus on my PC (W7) installed by a technical support company which offers on-line support.

The company seems to have ceased trading but the anti virus is still working.

When the programme period lapses do you think I will get advance warning, even though the security provider no longer exists ?

Cheers.

Did Webroot not merge with Prevx? Perhaps the cover will be transferred there?
If AV doesn't get updated it gradually becomes less and less able to spot new attacks. It can run forever more but your computer gets vulnerable.

Probably best to install a current AV.
Did you mean that the "company" who supplied Webroot have ceased trading? If so you may have direct access to Webroot to renew your subscription. As far as I can see Webroot looks like a pretty gened up organisation.

Thanks, all.
Togo. Don't know about Prevx.

The company that installed Webroot as part of their security/support service was Zuutech, and they don't appear to be operating anymore and aren't responding to my attempts to contact, even though I have paid my annual subscription.

Haha Derek, if there has been a "misunderstanding" somewhere "action this day" has been taken on your behalf. Hope that Zuutech don't take it personal mind.

Well, Chris, you have succeeded where I, as a fully paid up Zuutech customer, failed !
After several failed attempts to contact them via their help line I sent them a couple of emails asking them to reply asap, and also asking themif they were still in business. I got the usual automated receipt and a promise that someone would be in touch promptly. With a nod to Neville Chamberlain, ' I have to tell you now...' that no such promise has been kept (as per time of this message.) But I am grateful to you once more, Chris, for your efforts on my behalf.

Incidentally, I gave notice to Zuutech today that I will not be renewing my subscription when the present term lapses.

Cheers.

D. Thanks to you, too, Togo.

Zuutech has been in touch by email and, yes, they are still in business.

Problem now solved but I wasn't impressed with their initial lack of response.
