Decided to have another go at Talk Talk about my email address.
At the beginning of December it suddenly stopped working, saying can not get mail. I tried to reset it but said my email or password were incorrect.
I have had three separate sessions with TT since, trying to rectify it. Each time we'll over an hour. Twice being cut off. The last saying it would take a week.
Today I was on go 1 hour 58 minutes. On hold a few times. I told first person I had a new email address so they could send my bills. Then explained about problem. Passed me on to someone else. Very difficult to understand him, after one hour I got someone else, a bit easier to understand but still hard.
Had numerous attempts at mending it. Had to log on with new addy to get started. Couldn't do it. After 30 minutes he my email address was incorrect.
Turns out initial lady had made an error writing down my addy.
Got that sorted but he couldn't repair my original email. Said it will take a week. So I have to try and log in next Friday. Frustration is off the spectrum.

It's more difficult when English isn't their 1st language, isn't it Caran? When I'm put on hold I put the phone on loudspeaker and get on doing stuff without sitting and waiting ;)

Why not just for the moment create another email account with, for example, Yahoo or Gmail.

I have created a new email. But I have lost a lot of contacts due to loss of original. Also have many business companies who use my email that now cannot contact me.
You are right there, Baths. I had a spam call yesterday from a foreign lady about my BT internet. That was the only bit I could understand. What the problem was or why she was calling I couldn't make out. She kept rabbiting on incoherently. I eventually told her that although my phone was with BT my internet was not. Fortunately I have a phone where I can terminate calls and block numbers with the press of a button, which is what I did. I realise it's all to do with money; much cheaper to pay an Indian, say, than someone in England. However these companies do themselves no favours. Others make a point of advertising the fact that they have UK call centres.
Same with me Caran. I have given up as Talk Talk said I don't exist.
Last week I had problems getting into TalkTalk as it did not recognise both my email address and my password. Did an online chat with one of their operators and it was sorted within 10 mins. I would try that rather than waste time trying to understand foreigners. TalkTalk are not the best and I have got myself another email address.
when i had moved to EE i asked the nice man in the shop to create a new G Mail account, which is what i use now, even though my talktalk e mail account is still live, even though i haven't been with them for a number of years.
I share your frustration with talktalk, its the reason i switched to EE
