Replacing Wireless Card On Laptop

If I replace the wireless card in my HP Pavilion laptop, are there any drivers involved or should it work straight away?

It would probably depend upon which make and model of card you chose to install. (i.e. your laptop will already have the drivers for some cards but possibly not for all of them).
