Ipad Not Charging

Its plugged in, have tried two different leads, but its not charging. Lightening flash is displayed next to battery symbol but no charge going in down to 1% power.

Any ideas?

Have checked the lead on the iPhone and it is fine, i’ll try again in cooler spot. The iPad felt very hot, could be overused! And very warm today by the sunny window .....

Have you tried pressing the home button and power button at the same time for a few secs?

Thanks all. I checked the support link which also mentioned overheating. I’ve let it in a cool corner and it’s charging fine again now. It’s on 17% and recovering well!

Wolfgang it’s probably over 5 yrs old, could be feeling tired at this stage?

Maydup...perhaps the internal battery is starting to get like all re-chargeable batteries do, after being charged and re-charged too many times ?

New battery mat be needed perhaps ?
