Burning Cd/dvd

I am running windows 10 on my Lenovo laptop. I have windows media player installed. When I insert a blank cd and try to burn a cd I have downloaded from BitComet I get a message saying "windows media player cannot burn the files because the disc is in use, please wait a few minutes and try again later' - the disc is brand new and blank, I have tried three or four different blank discs and get the same response. Why is this and how do I solve it please?

However I repeat my previous suggestion of using a dedicated disc-burning program (rather than the dreaded Windows Media Player, which had its burning feature added on as an afterthought). If nothing else it will tell you whether your problem lies with Windows Media Player itself or with something else:
