You have done a friend or whoever a really good deed, they start to give you praise to other people in your presence, how do you handle it?

How even.
With decorum.
I say, "Thank you", try not to blush, and then continue with whatever I was doing.
I tend to use blatantly false modesty, with phrases like "It was nothing, really" ;-)
Graciously, with a tad of embarrassment.

Then capitalise on the moment.

" I could do the same for you, but, it will cost you just a tad" ;-)
Mercenary! ;o}
Some one needs to pay me Boaty, anyone, except a loved one.

I don't care where money comes from ;-/
Can't argue with that mate! ;o}
shucks..where's me halo ?
It slipped down Minty.

Where do you wear it these days?

;-)
EEK !
I would probably say. "Shut up and show your appreciation by going to the bar"
chees 'n' onion please
I make a joke of it and say it didnt happen like that.

I don't accept praise well and would rather that just said thank you without going over the top.
i drink it in and keep the subject going for as long as possible
i don't or at least not well, i stutter something inane and though i might be secretly pleased find i don't take praise at all well.
