Restore Previous Session

Last night MS opted to reboot my PC for some update as I slept. I discovered this morning that at least one programme has lost all it's settings and reverted to default.

Bad enough but...

It looks like it closed Firefox with the massive number of windows and tabs I was keeping open. I try for restore last session, still unclear why it doesn't have the sense to do that by default. I find it has a very very very sick sense of humour.

All it opens is a single window/tab to my woman's e-mail account (she was getting issues getting them to download to her mobile and checked her account on the PC a few minutes earlier).

Firefox is pretending that the last session doesn't consist of the massive number of pages that it actually does. This is a disaster.

Apart from searching the history by eye for the last umpteen months trying to spot missing pages, is there anything I can do to salvage this ?

Have read someghing about sessionstore files but not finding any of obvious use. Maybe the filename has changed of late. Was hoping to find a .bak version.

Not got far. Most advice on the Net seems to be for older versions not Firefox Quantum 57 :-(
Unbelievable.
