spot the double negative and give up trying to understand
There is little doubt that the majority of politicians, civil servants and “The Establishment” were horrified at the result of the referendum. Most of them (with a few exceptions) seem to have accepted that the result cannot now be overturned and that a re-run of the vote is not going to happen (though many still believe a second referendum is justified).

They have now altered their strategy and will do everything within their (considerable) power and influence to see that the result, even though enacted in name, means little in practical terms. They wish to see the “negotiations” conclude with a deal that commits the UK to remain considerably subservient to their EU masters. Mr Starmer, for example, has publicly stated that he would be prepared to sacrifice the UK’s sovereignty in order to remain in the Single Market and Customs Union. So cheap is the price of many of that group’s pride and so eager are they willing to sacrifice their integrity that they would sooner see the current government fall and usher in the Communist/Marxist alternative that is waiting in the wings than see us leave the EU properly. If that should happen “crashing out” of the EU would be the very least of their worries.
Sadly it seems the judge is correct, the Vichy British are angry at the brexit vote and will collaborate with their buddies in the EU to lessen the impact as they see it. No doubt to sate their treachery we'll end up with nothing like what the majority voted for in 2016. I hope it won't be yet another Coup like the 1973 one but hey ho, these charlatans think they know best. It seems we will end up living in Vichy Britain after all.
Should have voted UKIP like wot I did
"It seems we will end up living in Vichy Britain after all. "

Veni, vidi vichy

// "It seems we will end up living in Vichy Britain after all. "
Veni, vidi vichy //

yeah and the swiss dont like it either and some refer to the new switzerland as - vichy-soisse !

yeah and theresa may said "I am gonna do it them - vichy verky or whatever they really say"

yeah and those better educated member of Scotland yead when they arrested the Kray Brothers used to shout
" yeah you fracking knicked again - this is the Vichy Sqad !"

oh by the way
in 1940 the Fransh Empire sided wizz Vichy - and the colonies were run from Brazzaville ( French Congo)
n zad eez why Rene ( Claude Rains ) says to Rick ( Humpy Bogart) at the end of Casablanca - "Well Reek, I hear brazzaville is varry nice ."
( or whate3ver the final words are of Casablanca)
Yeeeeeeeaaah! Tora finally gets what Brexit was about all along. Marvellous.

I keep repeating this ad nauseam but what did you expect a majority pro EU Govt to do? (And if anyone answers ‘respect democracy’ then they have more faith in our MPs than they oughtta).
So what are we going to do about it? Bend over further?
Lambs to the slaughter. We deserve what we get.
There seems to be an implicit assumption by many Brexinos that we could technically leave after March 2019, yet still have the option of going back in on current terms. If reentry were to be considered, the electorate would need to be told on what terms the EU would readmit us. Eg join the Euro, be part of Schengen, etc.
This has all been made much more difficult than it needed to be.

Article 50 should have been triggered as soon as the referendum result was known, we could have just walked away then, and invited those that wanted to trade with us, to come and talk.

All this diplomacy nonsense has got us nowhere. I said on an AB thread in July last year, that we would be sold down the river, and it’s looking like it’s going to be even worse.

MP’s will vote for what THEY want. People like Anna Soubry who have done nothing but whinge whine and moan for the last 18 months.
The constituency I was living in at the time of the vote, voted out, but the MP was a remainer. I don’t doubt he will vote for himself, not his constituents.

Mrs. May is a gutless, spineless, weak PM, and although I am no fan of Donald Trump, having watched his speech last night and listened to him putting his country and it’s citizens first, am left wondering why we can’t have a PM who does that.
I would have more respect for those Remain MPs in Leave constituencies if they resigned and submitted themselves to reelection. And vice versa.
As I said on here the day after the vote, I will believe Brexit is going to happen when it actually happens.
