Who Can See My Facebook Posts?

I've got my Facebook set so that only "Friends" can see my posts, so how come that people who aren't my "Friends" have "liked" things I've posted on my own wall/timeline?

I know nothing about Facebook but this suggests that you need to go to 'How Tags Work' in 'Privacy Settings':
