I was a REMAIN supporter, but I thought that one of the reasons that people voted for BREXIT, was to bring back control of our affairs to Parliament ?

The question of what happens in the event of Parliament voting down a deal is rather an important one.
It will affect how MPs vote. If the choice is "deal" or leave anyway with no deal", assuming we ever get to that point -- and it is hard to see how rebel Tories who wouldn't stand for not having a proper vote at all would stand for that -- then I cannot see MPs going for the latter option - plainly that is why those were the options the Brexiteers wanted to present to Parliament. It seems unlikely that we could have "deal" or "remain" without another referendum. Equally, "deal" or "back to the negotiating table" seems unlikely.
"Deal" or "faff around endlessly" is surely something the country cannot afford

Renegotiating that is going to be a major stumbling block. It will not take 'just a couple of months' as some on here have said.
Others say the answer is to 'widen trading areas' OK I can see the logic in that .
But do you think it can be achieved in just a year or so? It will take decades. Other countries already have their trading / export /import deals in place.
Are they going to just roll over and say '' Ok UK now you have left the EU, so we are going to hand over all our hard won export / import / trade deals to you?'' If you believe that you really are living in cloud cuckoo land.
