Has one-day (20/20) cricket contributed to England's poor showing in the current test series with Australia ?

possibly, but they are on Australia's home soil, always a difficult ask.
I don't think that can be it. Cook, Anderson and Broad only play tests these days; Stoneman and Vince aren't in the ODI side either currently; Root, Bairstow and Ali have generally been adept at both long and short forms.
Doesn’t seem to bother the Aussies.

Thanks all. Let's hope we do better from now on.

Could we do with a couple like Geoffrey Boycott ?
Well, Boycott was saying that a lot of our team were too keen to go for shots. They should have played themselves in and left balls that didn't need to be hit.

I couldn't watch the Tests as they've gone over to BT Sport, but from what I've read from other writers and commentators, I think Boycott is correct. I know it's the same for both sides, but we've got a lot of young'uns who don't perhaps have the patience.
