Art is full of emperor's new clothes. It's encouraged by allowing artists to decide among themselves what art is. That gives an incentive to go around patting each other on the back for less and less talented efforts as that makes life easer for them, and they can go around claiming to be a great artist for some half hearted attempt at creating something to look...

Art is full of emperor's new clothes. It's encouraged by allowing artists to decide among themselves what art is. That gives an incentive to go around patting each other on the back for less and less talented efforts as that makes life easer for them, and they can go around claiming to be a great artist for some half hearted attempt at creating something to look at. They get stuck in a groupthink situation where they all believe in the same outlook, backing each other up, but which is obviously in error to anyone outside the group.
Workshy chancers repeating the same old tat for the most part, a lot like choreography, a pretendy thing.

its ok paddy, good morning to you too.
im with emmie on this, old saying art for art's sake, i never understood
the fuss over so called famous artists like picasso van gogh.
millions for ugly paintings, seen a few constable paintings they looked nice, but i would not have them on my wall, i liked h.r. giger knowing he worked on the 1979 alien film.
Love their candid comments - spot on with the 'Potato in a helmet'.

my nephews can do better than a lot of this, and they are only young.
Oh I liked some of it and yes, to my mind I too could do better than some - I'm 64.
