Hi, does anyone know if you can still access bbc iplayer and bbc radio stations abroad. Last time i was in spain in october i couldnt listen to popmaster, because it told me i was not in the uk. It was the same trying to catch up on a program on iplayer. I swotched to my paid for version of hotspot vpn to use a ik proxy ip address and it then returned a message stating that overseas ip's and vpn ip adresses can no longer be used as the ip cannot be confirmed as uk based.
However, almost daily steve wright and other presenters read out messages from people who say loving the show from oz or states etc etc . So the question is , can i still listen and watch bbc iplayer when travelling.

the only way you can access bbc iplayer when you're abroad is to have downloaded programmes while you're still in the UK. If you try to watch something on iplayer while you're abroad, it won't let you do it!
I've listened to the Archers abroad through iplayer, we got quite a collection of other Britons at the airport once!
sirius?
Have a look at TunnelBear. When abroad you can connect via that and it fools the internet into believing you are in Britain. You get a limited amount of data/month free (500GB); if you want more you have to pay. We used to use it to connect to libraries to get new ebooks whilst on holiday, as some would only let users connect inUK. They don't seem to restrict it to UK use any more so we haven't used it recently. I would guess that using it for IPlayer you would end up having to pay.
The BBC is legally obliged to block overseas access to its services (because they don't hold the international broadcasting rights to most programmes).

So, obviously, they block access from overseas IP addresses. Also, since more and more people are now using VPNs, they now also try to work out which 'UK' addresses are actually VPNs (either simply by analysing the volume of traffic from them or by subscribing to VPN services themselves and then seeing what IP address they've been allocated).

So with anyVPN (whether it be TunnelBear or anything else), there's an increasing risk that you'll find that it won't work to get access to BBC content from overseas. That's not to say that no VPNs will ever work. (My friend in Italy is still able to use a VPN to watch BBC content). However there can be no guarantee that any particular VPN will continue to work, as it's always a constant cat-&-mouse game between VPN providers and content providers.
I regularly listen to BBC radio stations online when outside the UK, but TV programmes are not accessible.
^^^ Most BBC radio content should normally be available overseas (either directly or via iPlayer Radio):

However most BBC TV content won't be.
