Not difficult to identify the Roman town and the principal contractor, but a saint who was educated there and died circa AD655? I've searched high and low and can't come up with one. The never-answered ancillary clues can be soooo frustrating!

Pope Martin I died in 655.

Indeed he did, but I can't find any evidence that he ever came to Britain. The best possibility I can find is Saint Foillan, who is recorded as passing through Wales before settling in East Anglia:

Where's The Eastender when you need him?!
.... sorry, but I don't have the full question - I just read the bit with the saint who died in 655.
Is it possible to explain the question in full please??

Saint tathan

Saints Tathan and Tathyw (if not the same person) are associated with the Roman town but were too early to have died c AD655. Even St Cadoc, also connected with the town and who studied under St Tathan, died in AD580
I haven't done it this week. I never win.
Well, I've been doing it for 18 years, Tilly, and I've never won. Don't give up!
