Has anyone managed to complete this successfully? I wonder if there's an error (or if I've just missed something...).

13D: - Stevens, character in "To Catch a Thief" (7). The answer appears to be Frances - the checking letters fit apart from the "s" where it meets 22A...

22A: A character in "A Room with a View" (4,11): this can (surely...) only be Lucy Honeychurch - again, the checking letters (9 of them...) fit.

Is it just me...?

I have the same problem. The relevant answers are as you say Frances and Lucy Honeychurch.I will be contacting the Telegraph later today.

Ah - good - not just me, then! If you've got a problem with it too, Danny, it's definitely an error!

Will be interested to know what they say...
I will post as soon as I know anything,
Contacted the Telegraph. They will e-mail me when they have sorted it out.

Thanks, Danny. I'll be even more interested to see how they "sort it out"! Don't think I'll hold my breath...

Thanks, Danny. Couldn't open the link on the tablet but have now caught up.

Hmmm- not impressed... It's up there with "alternative spelling" - the two most depressing words to find in a crossword clue...!
The clue actually says character in the novel, which is Francie, it was changed to Francis for the film.
Or even Frances.
