Helo, we have been topping up our pond with tap water, I have been told we should be adding a product to counteract the chemicals. So far though we have not had any problems but has anyone done the same over a long period of time and if so any problems? Many thanks in advance

If it ain't broke....don't fix it.

I have a 3,000 gallon koi pond and i top up daily with tap water. I top my 3 fish tanks up with tap water too.

No problems here !!!
Its fine to use tap water to just 'top-up' your pond. Any chemicals in the water will be greatly diltued in the pond and will do no harm. Its only when you first fill a pond from scratch with tap water that you need to treat it, or just leave it for a few weeks for the chemicals to evaporate before putting in your fish.
