Due to the impending lifestyle change, the library had to go. A lifetime collection of nearly 30,000 books has been bought by a dealer I know. Got more than expected for them. They are being collected tomorrow, not sure how I feel but may shed a tear when they go. Great to see that quality books still have a place in society.

Quite a step Sam , but one nearer your ambition and you had the pleasure from them.
You've been very brave. I downsized and had to get rid of a lot of books. I felt bereft.
Where have you been storing them all?

You might love the new streamline look.

I been a bit sneaky Mamya, I've kept the signed by the author books. So many of the authors have passed away, I just couldn't let them go.
That's understandable.

I built a library Ummmm, about the size of four garages. Floor to ceiling shelving, you would be amazed at how many books it holds. I have been cataloging them for three years, made it easier to sell them.
Blimey - what are you going to do with that space now?
Sam is sailing away :-)

The house and garden is now sold STC, we've had an offer accepted on a beautiful apartment overlooking the Solent. Should be moving late Feb early March, only leaves a boat to be bought and updating of our sailing qualifications. That should take most of 2018, then 2019 off we go.
I did a big cull of my books a couple of years ago. It was a good move, they took a lot of space and I have not missed them. I am sure you have made the right move.

Your Answer...30,000?? Wow!
You sold your books to fill your head with new experiences. Exactly what books should do.

Yes Barmaid, I'll think about that on a nightwatch in a Force 10 crossing the Atlantic.
Yeah, and you wouldnt be doing it unless the thought excited you. Just a little. You'll have a ball....... :)
