Dingli Street is in the main shopping area of Sliema.

If you open Google Earth and go to N 35 53 47, E 14 29 24.6 and then enter Street View you can see a church which looks (to me) identical to the picture.

There used to be a dance floor jutting out to sea called the Ghar id dud.is that still there?

Certainly changed since I was there.At that time there were only three hotels on the island one of which was at the bottom of Dingli Street ,and the other two were both in Valletta.

Thank you Lynne.Our hotel was on that part of Sliema and we used to walk past the Ghar nearly every night when it was a bit cooler.
