On this week's edition of First Dates, when the Welsh gay guy was rejecting the guy he'd been paired with, he said "I'm a penguin" which appeared to be gay terminology (probably not connected to birds or biscuits) - what does it mean?

I wasn't paying full attention, but I believe he was referring to the fact that penguins mate for life. I think there was mention early on that he was looking for his penguin.
Didn't he say 'you're a penguin'? and the other guy didn't know what it meant.
He told him earlier in the programme that he was looking for someone to spend the rest of his life with, like penguins do,and not just flit from man to man
That's a rather full on discussion to have on a first date, isn't it?
No idea what it meant never heard the term. You get loads of folk saying 'no spark' etc which is similar on that prog. It is called 'First dates' not 'Here is the most perfect creature in the entire universe found for you by this TV company without the need for you to make any effort whatsoever from now until the end of time'. Other progs with that 'Gimme gimme approach I don't want to make and effort and feel self entitled' are 'Location location location' and Come Dine ..
