I think wer'e wasting our time here - bokings are very slow :-)
it's the litter they leave behind which annoys me, as well as them going off after 10 pm.

Someone, somewhere, sets off a rocket and you find the garbage in your garden, well, that irks me.
I don't even mind New Year and Diwali being added in as well, because if you know which days they will happen you can plan and organise for it, also its infrequent. Its when organised display are deliberately staggered to get maximum customers and private users let them off willy nilly

My cats love the fireworks - from behind the double glazing in a warm room. When they hear the first one at the main fireworks display they run to the window.

My dogs weren't so keen though
You unwell Baz?

No boking in here please or I'll have to go round with the mop and zoflora.

My big black Labrador loves them, gets very excited and tries to chase them. But then he does come from a line of gun-dogs.
I have had dogs in the past who liked fireworks...one in particular I remember was totally unphased until a random one went off like a howitzer over the garden about a week before the 5th. that was it and he was scared for the rest of his life despite our best efforts. I don't think you can understand how bad the fear can be for an animal unless you have seen it for yourself. Even with their being medicated, I expect to spend most of the dark hours of this weekend with them both on leads to restrain them from hurting themselves. I have tried all the suggested solutions to no effect.

You forgot to add - Other margarines are available

Anyway 'boking' was my Officer Crabtree , accent :-)
A a boy, I looked forward to Firework Night nearly as much as I did with Xmas. I can recall back in the 50's, standing outside in the garden, waving a sparkler around, and really enjoying myself.
I used to like the jacket potatoes done in the bonfire. We always had a bonfire.

Now that I have a dog who doesn't mind fireworks, they don't bother me. I do worry about the animals out and about though. Horses, sheep, birds...anything really. They must be terrified.

There should be more restrictions on the availability and the sale of them. A month long firework season is too much.
All our dogs were fine with fireworks and loud noise generally, may have been their origins (usually farms). Just one showed his displeasure by placing his paws firmly over his ears and refusing to go out to wee.

It must be awful to have a terrified pet.
mamya it is, and I have two :(
It is mamya. My little old dog is so terrified he's scratching and leaping to get out of the front door as he seems to think that is his escape route. He's just beside himself and it will go on until all is quiet. Fireworks or thunder I dread. I've resorted to giving him Melatonin when I think there is danger of either happening.
This weekend they'll be spread out Friday Saturday and Sunday I think. We'll be having fireworks in the back garden with jacket potatoes, tacos filled with chilli, parkin and Gluehwein to keep us warm.
Only one of my succession of seven dogs has been terrified of thunder and fireworks. We used to get sedatives from the vet and dose him up. It made his life a little more bearable during the firework season.
There's been a distinct lack of fireworks in our area this year, we only remarked in this yesterday. I'm quite glad as we have an eleven month old pup so we have no idea how he'll react on 5th. The few we've heard in the distance haven't bothered him at all, he's an adventurous little chap so fingers crossed they're not going to worry him the way they did our previous dog.
I dose mine with melatonin from just before halloween to mid november and again for new year. This year I am going to use prescribed meds as well for this weekend. If they work, i will get more for new year.
