We try to stick with guising.

Yes, I always ask what the trick is. Usually, this results in a few giggles.

Then, I proffer the basket of treats.

If it's a group of teenage lads, I ask them if they really want some 'sweeties'. They feel obliged to take a lollipop! :-)

No, but I always offer them a glass of pop laced with laxative and give them a handful of liquorice torpedoes. (^_*)

Hahaha, Togo, I'll bear that in mind for next year. On a similar note me and a few friends attend a monthly quiz run by a church group (upstanding Anglican types) and people bring various offerings to put on the buffet. We did once entertain the notion of taking some cannabis cakes.

a few years back, I heard someone would boil brussel sprouts, dip them in chocolate and eventually wrap them up a la Ferrero to hand out to the guisers.
(well, to those she didn't like anyway !)
