I just bought a (2015) macbook air, from some guy. It came with no charger. Was told it was just dead. Got it some power an i find out there is no hard drive. I do NOT know much about macbooks or computers.

I need to know if i buy a harddrive with the OS already on it that is ready to use will i have any problems? Like could this guy have left a password or anything in this computer?

Basicly will a new harddrive make my laptop boot up like a new computer so i can use it?

Any help would be great.

Thanks you

You say that that there's no hard drive but how do you know?

A 2015 Macbook Air won't have an actual hard drive anyway. From 2010 onwards all Macbook Air models have used solid-state drives. What makes you think that the SSD has been removed (rather than, say, the OS being wiped from it or otherwise being unavailable)?
you could always check if their is an ssd drive,
