seemingly not http://sciencenordic.com/no-serious-side-effects-hpv-vaccine. If it was effective post sexual experience I would definitely have it.
I presume you've had a fact sheet? If my Daughter didn't fall into any group who shouldn't have it then I personally would go ahead.

If she was my daughter, definitely.
It's a yes here, my daughter had it.

Thank you all. I was worried because I heard stuff about it some time ago, and was unsure. X
I'm unsure if my daughters will have it, I feel I need more information regarding the scare stories about it.
"seemingly not" is a stronger assessment than I would be comfortable in giving...

ABerrant, I don't see anything in your link that would make me worry about having it myself or commenting as I did.
sherrard, what scare stories?
I've seen stories about girls being struck by a mystery illness and then they become shadows of themselves (I don't think I read the detail) - I might be more aware of them because my eldest daughter is 12. I was going to do some proper research when she is due to receive it.
From googling, there was a mass thing in one town in Colombia and one researcher has produced a paper looking at 43 girls, not from the Colombian episode, who had ME like symptoms after the vaccination but there was no attempt in the paper to compare those cases with the thousands of others where there were no such symptoms....and even the author of the paper says that correlation does not imply causation....
My daughter was one of the first ones to have this after it was introduced in 2006. I encouraged her to have it. Last year at the age of 24 she had her first appointment to have a routine smear test. I encouraged her to have the jab as when I was 36 (she was 8 at the time) I was diagnosed with cervical cancer which was diagnosed from a routine smear test and had to have a radical hysterectomy. That is just my story. My daughter is now in the system and is being monitored as long as she attends any appointment in the future. I think I have drummed it into her the importance of this.
I'm in the prevention is better than a cure camp .
Since I wasn't a schoolie, I had this of my own accord and certainly wouldn't have wanted not to have it. Personally I think it's vital, to see someone die of cancer ought to be enough to convince anyone of this I would have thought.
I'm not saying my daughters won't have this but I'm on the fence at the moment. They have all had all the other immunisations. I have seen someone die of cancer in six weeks from diagnosis, I know what it looks like.
I think the other thing I would say is to sit down and discuss it with your daughter of course....not that I think she is old enough to have the final say but she will have views.....
Difficult one.
Yes......straight answer......I would vaccinate your child.
Sheraadk 20.03 makes a good point.

On balance.......yes I would advice vaccination.
