To me it just seems wrong! people with mental health issues are likely to be attending the event as it is raising funds for them, witnessing people with (supposed) supernatural powers I don't think such an event is appropriate under the circumstances.

What do you think?

Oh well I accept your differing views, I dont really agree with some and some are missing the point a little. But thats what having an opinion is all about, thanks all.
It's always uncomfortable when folk don't post in support of your POV isn't it?
Question Author
Eccles, I dont see why you felt the need for that little dig!!
I graciously accepted other peoples opinion, were you not happy that my mind wasnt changed.
You posted in good faith out of concern for people ratter.
Eccles...why the dig at Ratter...is it his turn now, rather than mine ?
Have you had a reply from the charity yet? What did they say?
My thoughts are you may not believe or approve of it but dont knock it as its for a very worthy cause.
Question Author
It appears MIND agreed with me, the event has been cancelled and the advert has been taken off FB.
What a shame, would have raised a lot - still, a result for you.
Question Author
No, Mama, not a result for me, it is a result for "mental health" they clearly wouldn't have put a stop to it for my benefit, they obviously thought it to be an inappropriate event, as did I!
Maybe somebody had a premonition of a poorly attended night.
Question Author
I agree douglas, They should have seen that coming!
Clearly they didn't like it on this occasion, as I stated on the previous page - others have gone ahead and raised money.
Anyway all done now.
Quite a leap of faith to think your intervention resulted in the cancellation, there could well be a myriad of reasons. Shame a fundraiser has been cancelled though.
What a killjoy!!
Question Author
Well, like it or lump it, an inappropriate event has been cancelled. There are thousands of ways of raising funds without conning people with such nonsense.
So what are you going to arrange instead Ratter?
Maybe Ratter wasn't the only person who complained
