Any really good films from the last 10 years or so you'd recommend? No action, violent, or fantasy films thanks - my fave movies ever include Cinema Paradiso, Untouchable, Hope & Glory, Notting Hill, the remake of Far From The Madding Crowd, and the original Bridget Jones, so anything along those lines would be good please

I was all set to advise that you watch Django Unchained, but then I saw your provisos, and your list, and decided it's about as far from what you would like as I could find!

'Dear Frankie' (2004) starring Gerard Butler and Emily Mortimer.
the Stdio Ghibli animated films from Japan are often very beautiful. Spirited Away, for instance. Some of them are aimed mainly at kids but most are fine for adults too. Nothing like Pixar or Disney.
In the past few weeks I have seen Miss Sloan, excellent film, also Denial, very good and based on a true event, also Hidden Figures, very good and also based on true events1
The Hundred Year-Old Man Who Climbed Out of the Window and Disappeared (2013)

Have recently enjoyed Lion, with Dev Patel, and The Woman in Gold, with Helen Mirren.

I think PP has got you confused with another jenny, JK.

I'm not a big film fan, but I did enjoy the one about Mary Poppins recently. Saving Mr Banks.
