^ It is , the lager or beer turns the cider cloudy and it looks a right mess.
Lol@Mush...................................."I'm not paying for 69 of those". :))
No cloudier than a hand pumped traditional scrumpy cider.

Never known it to be served with beer rather than lager.

The worse drink any bar person can be asked for is a black velvet...

didn't realise I would cause such a stir, I will let the lads know of this response, thanks PS. I think that I'll just stay with my wee drams of scotch
Black velvet, hmm. I like champagne and Guinness, but not together.
I used to drink Babycham and brandy. What a waste. Does Babycham still exist?
It does, Jo.

We served poor persons black velvet. Cider and Guinness :-)
I remember my Grampy secretly treating my sister and me to Babycham in very posh (as we thought at the time) glasses. Those flat ones that were supposed to have been modelled on a woman's breast.
We used to get them free in the pub with promotions.
snakebite
some publicans refused to sell it
## I have not heard anyone ask for snakebite for years,##

And Lager Top!
Plenty of lager tops still served.
Definitely Snakebite.
The concept that a snakebite is "lethal" is ludicrous. Half a pint of this and half a pint of that still only equates to a pint.

Anyone who's ever had a glass of Sangria has had red wine, gin, brandy and whisky in the same glass.
It is if it's half special brew and half white lighting believe me I've tried it you only need one of them!
Have to disagree. It's not ludicrous. It was widely refused to be served in quite a few pubs round here. It made nice people become aggressive.

Carlsberg Export also had a negative effect on some people. I certainly wouldn't serve it to my father. It turned into a complete ***.
*him..into a female dog.
Can anyone remember a drink called Final Selection it came in a small bottle with a red warning label on the back saying due to the alcohol content to much is considered dangerous, in the 1950s it was
I remember barley wine ..I think it was called that...now that was a strong drink ...wonder if it's still about?
Looks like it, Voltage.
