Found some Smoked Salmon in the fridge, vacuum sealed, use by 11th October. Is this a conservative date and would it be safe to eat tomorrow?

Open the packet and if it doesn't smell off it should be OK.

Thanks all, I usually do the sniff test but wanted a little bit of reassurance.
I wouldn't eat it, but I'm a fussy gIt :-)

As it's only a couple of days, take advice given by folks...open, smell it, check for discolouring, if ok, should be fine.

I wouldn't either I'm a bit " funny" with food, though I'd give it to the dog/ cat today :-)
I'd eat it.
There will be absolutely nothing wrong with it - eat and enjoy!
Please don't give smoked salmon to your cat or your dog - it can kill them.

There is a parasite in uncooked salmon which is harmless to humans but toxic to cats and dogs.
Saple, why don't you mince it up, mix with potato, etc and make fishcakes with it. Cooking it will definitely make it safe to eat.
If its still vacuum sealed, then there shouldn't be any problems whatsoever.

But once you have opened it, scoff it all as SS doesn't have a very long life in the 'fridge.
if its going off, then cooking won't make it safe to eat.
I have in the past more than once and more than twice eaten smoked salmon, including from an already opened packet, after the best by and/or use before date(s). Raw fish is a known source of listeria but if it is there after the above dates then it was already there during the perceived "safe" period before that. Smoked salmon contains some added salt and thus has a degree of preservative in it.
