Galaxy Fame Phone Wont Dial In Or Out.

Quite an old phone used as spare, bought a new battery recently.. Suddenly cannot dial out, screen goes black, and cant receive calls either. Have to switch off and on again and it works. Can I fix this please?

Fender, where would I find it in Settings? Its not reminding me about updating.

Ok found it. Auto update is on but when I click on software update it says ... Your device has been modified. Software updates are not available. I just need this phone as a basic phone by the way, I dont use the internet on it.
