Are you a fan? Who's your favourite folk artist?

I may need to rate these tomorrow as it's bedtime, but knock yourselves out!

The Huckleberries. anyone going to any folk festivals?
If dilf is right on the former, then:

Bob Dylan
followed by
Neil Young

I know! I know! you asked for the singular!
Eliza Carthy
Karine Polwart
Nanci Griffith (Country/Folk really, but fantastic nonetheless)
Bob Dylan
The Waifs
Can't say I'm a big folky, but my husband's become quite chummy with Oysterband over the past couple of years and I've really got to like them, both on and off stage.

I also heard Chumbawumba's acoustic set at Big Session last month (they did a set with OB too), and I thought they were b****y brilliant!

Agree Eliza Carthy.

And I don't know whether she counts (maybe more world music) but has anyone heard Souad Massi?
salamander sidmouth folk festival in devon is a great week to treat yourself to. every pub has a jamming session and is full of alternative celebrities [ think of the bar scene in star wars].
they gave up on the main arena and major artists last year but it did not spoil the festival. if you get the chance give it a go.
