Please help. I know NOTHING about technology so please assume you're trying to explain something to an alien who has never seen a computer!

I have an old laptop which is probably about to give up the ghost. All I use it for is buying parcel labels from a courier and then printing label out on my printer.

Anyway, today, I switched on, as normal, and got this message....

Firefox.exe Bad Image
The application or DLL C:\PrgramFiles\Mozilla.Firefox\xul.dll is not a valid Window image. Please check this against your installation diskette.

When I press OK I get the following....

Firefox. Couldn't load XPCOM

What can I do?

Thank you.

Good idea to wait and have a look with someone else for reassurance - trying to sort these things on your own is always a bit worrying!

Thanks goodgoalie. That looks helpful. However I'm going to wait for OH to have a look at it. It's weird, but as soon as see anything technical written, I panic. I know it probably sounds ridiculous to someone who understands the stuff, but sadly it's true. Thank you again. I'll pop back later to report progress.

From reading various similar problems you need to UNINSTALL Firefox.

Switch your computer off and on again

REINSTALL Firefox.

As an example here is a person who had the exact same problem as you
