Welcome to Title Builder Beta.

This small piece of kit is designed to make building your Quiz, Crossword or Puzzle question more effective. It should make finding your question easier for others and, the easier it is to find, the more likely someone is to answer it!

To build an easy to find question title simply select the paper and quiz, enter the quiz number if relevant and fill in the Publication Date. Once you’re happy click “Build Title” and the information should populate the Title field. Fill in the final required details of your question as you normally would, and click submit.

As this is a Beta we only have a limited number of papers and quizzes listed. If you think your favourite Quiz, Crossword or Puzzle should be listed here don’t hesitate to contact us.

Remember: You do not have to use the title builder - simply enter the title and question as you normally would and click submit!

With quite a bit of surprise and head scratching, we have a full grid. It took a lucky early spotting of the theme to speed our solve up enormously. I thought this was quite challenging. Thank you, Flying Tortoise.

Incidentally, there is now an excellent video online of Mark Goodliffe solving the recent Charybdis, explaining how the Listener works for newcomers. Highly recommended for all:

Great - a lot of cold solving and what looks like four separate mini-crosswords with no interaction between them. After solving about half of the clues I'm stuck.
The preamble appears to say that each quadrant contains only answers to one of four types of clue, but so far I have far more of one type than any of the others. If that's not what it means, it could have been phrased a lot more clearly.

On closer scrutiny two of the clues I've done were less normal than I thought.
This makes more sense of things and has also helped me spot the four words as I don't have two rogue letters hampering my search!
