it isn't always assumed it's just women.
On radio 2 this morning they wre talking about breast cancer and mentioned men getting it
It was never assumed to be a women-only problem by me....it's just that it's so much less common in men.
Absolutely.....I mind (and won't be involved in) the giggly breast cancer awareness things that go around social media that start "don't tell the men"
Years ago when I went for a mammogram I said "Well this is one thing men don't have to go through" and the (very nice)lady said that she hates it when she get a male patient as they only get a mammogram when the diagnosis is already known. :(
Because it is very uncommon in men.
Let me put it in perspective.
A GP with 3,500 patients on his list may see two cases of breast cancer in men, in 40 years of medical practice.
Does that help?
There were 3 chaps with breast cancer when I was having my radiotherapy for mine - 2 from Dublin and 1 from down the country, I tried to work out myself was that population in capital to the rest of the country, I wasn't surprised when i went up though and met them as while getting my chemo there were booklets about men checking for breast cancer
