Some of us like to have a lot of privacy at home, some are not so fussed about it, some don't seem bothered at all. When you're at home after dark and you have lights on, in which of the following situations would you close your living room curtains?: A. If you are in on your own B. If you are in with your partner/family C. If you have friends or other family visiting D. If you are hosting a girls/guys night in E. If you are hosting a party F. For all of the previous situations G. Never

kvalidir, one or two have posted to say they have found themselves in situations where someone has been looking in when they least expected it so you never know!
Depends if they're on the invite list Sam.
Only on my birthday Mamya, 29th February.
I keep my blinds open on the window that faces the back as we have a lovely view - well not at night, but no need to shut them then. No curtains or blinds at the front. The side blinds are shut at night as we're very exposed on that side.

I didn't think of that one for H Sapelesam!
Ist one that came to mind kirstybeebee, now you get how my mind works.
Question Author
Yes the mystery of the mind sapelesam!
We bought some new blinds today :-)

Tomorrow will consist of window cleaning. Him the outside, me the inside and then he'll fit them. We have a box bay window so the side blinds will probably stay up most of the time.
Ummmm, are you fit enough to be cleaning windows?
Never close lounge curtains, or bedroom, when sleeping. We have woods behind us and I suffer a bit from claustrophobia so don't like to be closed in.
Question Author
I understand what you mean MargoTester about feeling closed in. Some small rooms can give me a boxed in feel when curtains are closed.
We have vertical blinds which I hate but they do the job. We close them as we put the lights on, we have a very odd neighbour who nearly breaks his neck staring in.
I'd love not to have to have blinds or curtains, I leave them all open in our holiday home as we're not overlooked.
I have net curtains up at my front window and once it gets dark enough to put my wall lights on, that's when i close the curtains. I hate people being able to see in but me not being able to see out! Paranoid:-/
Tilly - I should be ok. We have a sideboard in the bay so I'll just wash them standing on that and he'll finish them off.

Scrap that....he's just said I'm not allowed to do it :-)
Good for him, Ummmm. Just stand back and admire the new blinds.

Our Lounge faces the Seafront and we have approx 18' of Bi-fold doors looking out on it, there's a dummy curtain at both ends just for internal appearance and that's it, never gets blocked off.
Question Author
Well you can't have it both ways Ken4155, not unless someone can invent some kind of one way curtain system. You know like that one way glass they use to identify crime suspects and the suspect can't see the victim!
Question Author
I've seen these dummy type curtains with blinds for internal appearance, I guess that a blind on its own might just look a bit plain.
We only draw the curtains when recreating the steamier scenes from Doctor Foster.
Don't want to make the neighbours jealous. :)
Question Author
douglas9401, yes you certainly want to keep your curtains closed when you recreate those scenes!
