I wish you well. I broke my wrist about 3 years ago and it was the silly things that were annoying. Going to the loo and not having both hands to pull down/up knickers. Not being able to tear off a piece of loo paper - my husband used to tear up loads and leave them in a pile. You just have to resign yourself to being dependent on someone else to help you dress, cut up food etc. Not easy if you are an independent minded person.

Ah - thank you - the toilet aspects had already given me pause for thought and doing up my bra and keeping hands warm with gloves also a challenge
Love the loo paper idea - thank you - also I eat tons of fruit which I cut up religiously and ,y husband can't bear fruit so that will be interesting for him
Many thanks for taking the time to reply - op should have been today but cancelled last week as no surgeon available but rebooked for two weeks fingers crossed !
You will definitely need a bit of protection if you fancy a bath or a shower ... there are too many to choose from so just google it and have a browse...

Thank you - great idea - great link !
Fasten bra at front and drag round unless you are well endowed then it may be a bit painful.
Re bathing as suggested, there are proper prtoective sleeves that you can buy, but cling film is an alternative.
Do keep your fingers moving unless told otherwise as this helps circulation.
If you are not able to fasten and unfasten your bra, pull it off and on over your head, as if it were a sweater.
You will also have to think about what clothes you can wear. I was 'lucky' in that it was mid-summer and I only had to get my cast through a short sleeve.

Does your husband cook? Have you got some meals ready in the freezer?
