There’s a danger with equating this foolish woman with ‘the left’.
It now means that whenever Katie Hopkins says, we can claim that she (and literally just her) is ‘the right’.
What you’re doing is what she’s doing, which is using this atrocity as a launchpad for the cheapest of cheap shots.
And that’s quite shameful.
It matters not that the people who died were dyed-in-the-wool Republicans or members of the NRA or whatever. They were innocent people on a fun night out.
Right now, the arguments and discussions should focus on America’s current gun laws, and what can be done to mitigate against such occurrences in future.

Like hanging effegies from the bridge in Manchester and the vitriolic insults from the left against Tory delegates this is a running issue with the sheer nastiness of the left and legitimate to highlight it. 1. We have no way of determining what the political affiliation that this woman has. Slaying Republicans doesn’t automatically make someone left wing. The world is not that simple.
2. She is American. The ‘Left’ doesn’t make sense there. The correct term would be ‘Liberal’.
3. You can’t extrapolate something that one person has tweeted and use that as a definition of what ‘the Left’ are saying, just as it would be unfair to quote Tommy Robinson, Jeremy Clarkson, Zac Blenkinsop or Alex Jones as the voice of the Right.
4. What you’re doing on this thread is exactly the same as what Hayley Geftman-Gold did. There’s literally no difference.
5. By linking this statement to the odious ‘Hang the Tories’ banner, you leave AB open to a flood of similar posts where we could easily post questions asking why the American Right / Neil-Nazis / White Supremecists thought it was a good idea to march earlier this year chanting “We won’t be replaced by f****** Jews”. There’s very little to be gained from getting into a ‘who’s worse’ arms race. I’m sure we could both easily scour the Internet for examples that support our argument.
