At the moment I have venetian blinds, up at my front windows, one has just broken so I'm looking to replace them, I don't want to fork out a lot of money , by getting them made to measure, the windows are quite wide 11 foot the sitting room window, I'm not a lover of nets, and my bedroom is on ground floor, any ideas please guys.

is it just one slat that has broken?
Are the blinds vertical?

Roller blinds can be inexpensive or as expensive as you like :-)

not one of the slats alba, its the header rail, they are venitian blinds. I have looked at roller blinds but they don't seem to make them for such a large window, and 2 pushed up together is not ideal.
oh, botheration about the header rail !
(bet you said something a tad stronger lol)

I've verticals at the front of the house and some in the living-room are clipped on via a bent paper-clip.
(needs must and all that)

can I suggest you have a look at Gumtree?
Maybe someone in local area is having to clear out a property and may have something your size?
Voile panels?
Good idea alba.
Weighted voiles, they hang so much better and are less likely to be fly-away. If you make your own, and they are very easy to make, you can buy the weighting as long tubes full of lead pellets, or something heavy, to sew into the hem.
I'm a lousy female, shopping and home decor genes have missed me, but having googled voile panels, I think Ele and Zebo are right.

Some are blooming lovely, will have to remember them when it comes time to renew :-)
Roller blinds inside, spiders outside at present!

Thank you but was just wondering if you can you see through voiles, when you have the lights on
Depends on the thickness of the voile really, you can see through mine but I have draw curtains for night time.
proper internal wood shutters here, 200 years old plus....
any dust on them, DTC?
That fave of Ann Maurice, vertical blinds.
plenty, tilly, plenty.....and then there are the bullet marks.
Before you buy anywhere else, look at Blinds2Go- they are brill.. I'd go for vertical in your case, myself.
We've just had to buy new made to measure blinds for the kitchen. Phoebe tore the last lot down.
mine have got dog nose art on.
Laugh out loud at Woofgang. My blinds, too, have nose art, but it is the cats who do it.
