Why did he HAVE to get onto school ground I wonder?

Was he just dropping off his snowflake or was there some other reason he simply HAD to drive in?

Although having watched the video and read some of the news articles of what was said in court I think he was nudged to a sitting position. He didn't need to be walloped in the back of the lgs for that to happen.

However that is immaterial to the fact the driver then raced into the school with a teacher precariously straddling the bonnet who then gets thrown off.

Added to that he put other children in danger also has to be considered.

Schools have a no car policy for a reason. If this man had actually had business to deal with in the school he would have been told to park elsewhere and return.

The teacher was unlikely to have been a jobsworth. He was on safety duty. Obviously a job that needs doing bu the looks of it.

My children's school actually shuts the gates at these times so the parents can't drive in even if they wanted to.
You need to look more carefully, ygritte.......there is the second or two where the teacher sits on the bonnet...hands still in pocket....settles his feet....and then the car takes off....

Nobody is almost justifying the stupidity of the driver or defending him.....just looking at what happened... :-)
Bad decision. What he should have done was reversed sharply and dumped the teacher on his ass.

Yes he settles in without getting up. That could be he has decided that after being nudged no one would be stupid enough to drive off with someone sitting on the bonnet.

To me the driver is at fault and the teachers actions are no reason to think otherwise.

only thing is WHY did he have to drive and park on school grounds?
He's 22 with a 9 year old daughter? Don't think so, a 9 year old step-daughter more likely
(sorry, being pedantic this morning)

The idiot is an inconsiderate buffoon
Judge Judy would have told the teacher, 'You're a fool, you should have rang the police, not taken the law into your own hands'.
And then awarded him £5,000, probably.
As an aside what exactly does this word 'snowflake' mean in this context. I see it used often on AB - it's obviously nor part of TTT's rhyming slang??
Delicate and sensitive.
A fragile, delicate child; in the parents belief anyway.
Oh right thanks didn't know that.
I didn't think that he 'sat' on the bonnet until the car hit him behind his legs, his alternative may have been to fall to the floor and be run over. Hopefully this idiot is now banned from the school premises at all times, he's clearly not the father of the child.
'Snowflake' almost turned me away from reading this but I carried on.

Regardless of whether the teacher sat down or was forced into that position , the driver is dangerous.

It was said earlier that children are resilient - they are but also very impressionable and pick up on the actions of adults around them and often go on to replicate that behaviour.

I wouldn't want this guy in charge of my children.
A bit more detail here

There had been previous between the driver and his victim. The teacher had been tasked with enforcing that there was no public access to the staff parking area.
On a lighter note, I love the reaction of those two kids. It's like, 'Hey wasn't that Mr McCarthy that just rode past on that car bonnet?'. 'Oh yeah. He'll be in trouble for that'.

From DM Link

///Ms Morrish told the court that his partner's nine-year-old daughter was also in the back on the car at the time of the incident.///

No Ludwig, one of them is saying "Wow look at Mr Mcarthy riding on top of that car. They'll never believe us in woodwork class"

The other is like " Nah, been there done that. He should think of his own stunt"

As they both furiously post on snapchat.
The teacher was on supervisory gate duty at what appears to be the end of the school day. I've done this many times.

The driver committed a serious assault and deserves his punishment.
Glad he was jailed, shows what type of person he is by driving without insurance and MOT !
