just to say the estate officer is the exception to the rule, she does actually reply to e mails.
i don't know emmie but i bet they'd be super efficient if it was you owing them money
I don't know about benefits.

I have noticed how the council care for some areas better than others though.
Some are useless but I'm sure there are others who are spectacularly useless. I have never had an dealings with my council, save for changing my name recently.
Much of what our Council does is contracted out...to the likes of Capita.
So, it may not be your Council that is completely useless!
cor blimey Emmie, this has been going on for weeks and weeks.
Have you gone into Council Offices?
(can you get to the Council Offices?)

Our lot take about 4 -6 weeks to process paper work and then about 5 days between posting and postie-man delivering.

all i want is a letter or letters detailing what my housing benefit is now. You are right about being eager, on the ball about rent arrears or indeed taking money they were not entitled to, which they did last month.
Question Author
alba,
this has been going on since July when i first put the paperwork in.
it looks like from my bank statement today i have indeed been
given h/b and the weird thing is they don't seem to taken enough rent,
Not sure your council is the relevent authority for Housing Benefit. Isn't that the job of the DWP ?
Once the DWP has decided you qualify for Housing Benefit, your landlord will then amend the rent accordingly.
