Better to "sleep" for shorter periods during the day....but "hibernate" for longer periods, like overnight.

I tend to leave my netbook in 'Sleep' for most of the time. It doesn't cause any problems for me.

Occasionally though I think a full switch off and start up doesn't do any harm and might do good.

After all a lot of problems are solved by a reboot.
