I dont know when this happened & was Interesting to watch, but cant believe people would part with their money without securing the vehicle first.

I also couldn't work out, why such lenient sentences for the amount of money they stole, from those poor people.

Agreed.
I bought a car off Ebay a few years ago, but I would NEVER have sent any cash, even through Ebay ..... and I would NEVER have paid for it without viewing it.
The car I bought was located approx 40 miles from me. I contacted the buyer (he was a tradesman selling approx 6 cars at a time on Ebay) and asked if I could view the car. If he'd made it awkward to view by making excuses, etc .... I would have just walked away. I viewed the car twice and paid for the car in cash when I picked the car along with all the documents.
I couldn't understand why anyone would pay for a car without even viewing it.
^^^^ should say, "when I picked the car up*.

I did feel sorry for the poor people the lost their money, but people need to be more careful, especially when buying online.

.... and as for the sentences - not exactly a deterrent is it, considering how much money was involved??
