Enough is enough, they contribute nothing, in fact are detrimental to society.

Still hopefully when we leave the EU at least these free loading pond lives should be kept out.

//The Republic has no say in the matter. The UK decides how its borders are policed.//

The only way that would be the case was if the UK reintroduced a hard border between North and South, and let's be realistic, that isn't going to happen. The more likely scenario is that we are put customs officials in ports and airports in the South, and the Republic will have a say in any such agreement.
New Judge, Togo and DTC were suggesting borders of one sort or another. I was pointing out that there are no borders now and there can not be borders after Brexit.
I'm a fool for asking but

Why, Eddie?
Eddie....... No I wasn't. I was suggesting a more pragmatic approach. You highlight where I was advocating borders. Perhaps you are highlighting your desire for no borders....anywhere.......a desire for anarchy maybe. Who knows.
Douglas..... you fool. (^_*) You have left yourself "open" to an reply.
a reply! I originally put answer.... but that was soooo wrong.
Why what ?
I was and remain against leaving the EU. The last thing I want is more borders.
"New Judge, Togo and DTC were suggesting borders of one sort or another."

I've done no such thing, Eddie. You said that the Republic would not hear of any border controls and I simply pointed out that policing the UK's border (inwards, that is) is entirely a matter for the UK. Ireland does not determine these matters. But as I said earlier, there has been no effective border for 94 years and I don't expect there to be one (inwards to the UK) post-Brexit. Of course, again as I said earlier, if Ireland is instructed by the Euromaniacs to create a border from the UK to the Republic, then that is a matter for them to resolve. They may find that their citizens have something to say on the matter.
NJ we are singing from the same Hymn sheet over this, I do not dispute what you say.

//Perhaps you are highlighting your desire for no borders// Me.

Are you getting "confused" Eddie?
//More brigades? Where will it end?//

Brigadoon?
No Puckoon
I can recommend Puckoon
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Puckoon
Has to be one of the funniest books ever written !
All about problems with the Irish border!
Eddie....its been many years since I last read Puckoon !

Its not on my bookshelves, so I presume I must have lent it out ....quite the funniest book I have ever read !
Jaysus!
I love the bit where the border goes right through a pub.
One corner of the bar was in the Republic where beer was cheaper, from that day on the bar was empty apart from a bunch of skinflints in the 'cheap corner'.
I'm going to have to look for a copy mikey.
Milligans 'War' series is very funny as well. Especially the bit where he describes the Jehovah's witness haveing a 'knee trembler' with the local fat girl. It had me actually rolling on the floor helpless with laughter where he describes 'the man of God, Banging home his watchtower'
No reply to 19:44 then. A thread deflected and twisted. How about the staff at the Hospital that are to be forced to pay £thousands in fines for parking whilst working for ...........................the NHS. Tells you everything. Perhaps they could call themselves "travellers". Some will probably have to be if the fines are enforced. Meehh.
Togo , for what it's worth I think it is terrible that hospital staff have to pay for parking.
Doctors and other medical staff have to provide care to the best of their ability without regard to the ethnicity ,origin or living arrangements of their patients. This has absolutely NOTHING WHATSOEVER to do with being in or out of the EU. The situation will not change at all once we have left. As I said earlier these travelers are already in the UK and it has been established that they will retain the right to remain after Brexit.
There are still a considerable number on here who think leaving the EU will be a magic way to get rid of all problems that stem from immigration. They are going to be sadly mistaken.
//YMB, "when we leave the EU" ??????.//
9:52 Tues...3rd post in. Spoiler.

//How will leaving the EU make any difference to traveller families who have been in the UK for generations//
11:53 Tues. Eddie. Spoiler.

// This has absolutely NOTHING WHATSOEVER to do with being in or out of the EU//
9:11 Wed. Eddie.

Eddie you, and "others" were instrumental in forcing this thread into an EU squabble and now try to make the point that it has nothing to do with EU, whilst still using the EU as an example to make a non point.Guess what..........I, and other posters knew that. Now would you like to consider an answer to the question asked, as to whether the"travellers" will now expect the same dwelling rights in Hospitals Countrywide when one of their "family" is being treated.?
