This happens regularly when browsing AB using chrome on my Samsung mobile. The page changes (without me clicking anything) and I get taken to either a spam page about virus' or winning something, most irritatingly the phone vibrates when in the page. The only way to get out is to close the browser tab.

I have run malwarebytes and Norton AntiVirus without finding anything. Does anyone else using Samsung devices on AB have this problem?

I've just had the same, don't know how to stop it except close the browser.
If it happens again, could you have a look at the address of the webpage when the new page appears, and let me know what it says please? Or if you could take a screenshot of the page and post it here, that would be really useful too.
Is it because when I log and everyone logs into AB lately a notification comes up that this site is not secure, there was always an http// before the webpage before
Yes...its happened on my Samsung phone. But not always...it depends on how I access AB. If I Google it, then no problem. But if it's from "internet" then I get badgered with flashing and vibrating competition pages and "you have won...blah, blah, blah"
I have had this on my Galaxy for the first time in the last week - I never usually acess AB on my phone but I was abroad. The address was something like us.93147.site/bobo...... Said I had 4 virus attacks, kept vibrating and wanted me to download some antivirus. The only way to get rid of it was switching off mobile data.
Ed, I've had this problem. Most recently about 10 mins ago on my Samsung phone.

The best I can get in terms of a URL is tplldujr.net
Computers I am able to understand ( although still learning ) but mobile Phones completely leave me confused. The mobile phone I use, for emergency purposes only, could well have been one that Noah had aboard the Ark.

Anyway, I recall having read on the internet that Chrome is Not the best of Browsers and can be problematic with some sites. It might follow therefore that Answerbank has a conflict problem with Chrome, just as it is known to have with Internet Explorer.

Best I can suggest......Change your Browser.

Hans.

Thanks all, I've blocked a couple of URLs and haven't seen the problem pop up on my phone since then. If you see it again please let me know and tell me what the web address is so I can block it.
I've had this happen on my iPhone too...hasn't done it for a week or so.

Really annoying telling me I could win an iPhone 7 (why I have the 7plus) or if I leave my phone will be blocked.

Perhaps the ones you have blocked Ed have sorted this out as had no issues.

this 65 y o hacker says : this is weeping angel innit ?

Snowden was branded a traitor for giving details of the CIA weeping angel program ( yes really named after the Dr Who thing) which was basically about remote activation of listening devices in the home....

In fact it had featured in two soaps on tee-vee - NCIS - ( Abby - Oh that doesnt matter I can activate his phone remotely and find out where he is. Gibbs - really you can do that. Abby Sure watch) and Good Wife ( someone remotely ( oops NSA -two geeks named Frick and Frack) activates a screen in their board romm and listens in )

google weeping angel program

it strikes me crims and ne'er do wells are using the same ideas

( Bam Bam it gets around the american law on giving notice - as every machine has it so they dont have to admit some machines are doctored - a theme in the Wire ( American Series) )

PP, there was a history of TV programme on recently, led by Melvyn Bragg.

He said in the early days of TV people wouldn't get undressed in the living room because they thought the TV could see them. Now it turns out they're right.

Sorry, IggyB, off topic.
Thanks Iggy, I've sorted that one!
